Giant Madagascan Hissing Cockroach

Did You Know

Most insects lay eggs but the female cockroach gives birth to living young.

Fun Facts!

The Giant Madagascan Hissing Cockroach is one of the largest species of cockroach, reaching about 3 inches in length. Males are easily identified by the two large horns just behind their head, and they also have thicker and hairier antennae than the females. They produce a hissing sound for which they are famous. They have small holes called spiracles on their backs which they use for breathing. If they force air out of the spiracle quickly it makes a hissing noise.
